Ahead of his title fight against Robert Whittaker at UFC 243, Israel Adesanya has another world champion breathing down his neck in the form of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight king, Jon Jones.
Indeed, ”Bones” took to social media to add fuel to the already existing fire between the two men, as the 205-pound king unleashed some verbal venom on “The Last Stylebender” after hearing some of Israel’s comments earlier in the week regarding a potential fight between them.
.@stylebender Keep convincing yourself that one day you’ll be ready to face a boss like me. I’ll keep convincing myself that when that day comes, I will make you my absolute bitch.

Jon also didn’t take too kindly to Israel’s assessment of his performance against Thiago Santos at UFC 235, which saw “Bones” narrowly edge out “Marreta” via split decision. Jones, meanwhile, says he saw all he needed to see when Kelvin Gastelum dropped Israel at UFC 236.
You said you saw me fight in person against Thiago and I didn’t look the same. I also got to see you fight KG, didn’t need to be in person. You were almost knocked out on more than one occasion

Thiago couldn’t even touch my face and he grew up kickboxing. You only got to see my striking that night and now you’re convinced you’ll beat me? Let me see you in a wrestling match or a jujitsu tournament, you probably wouldn’t even place.

Before signing off, Jones had some advice for the current interim champ, saying that drinking ones own Kool-Aid may not be good for your long-term career.
I can see you’re starting to sip your own Kool-Aid, I know how it feels, I’ve been there before. Only I was around 23. Just don’t become delusional kid, fuck with a beast like me and I will expose you.

The two men have thrown jabs at each other throughout this past year, which is odd to see as Jones was quite complimentary of Israel early on.
Nevertheless, the heat between these two men is only getting stronger, though it would be wise for Adesanya to simply focus on his title unification match against the most dangerous fighter in his division.
Then again, perhaps trying to distract Israel and get into his head a week from fight night was Jon’s ways of helping Whittaker take down “The Last Stylebender.”
