Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Conor McGregor still does not have a fight booked yet, which may serve as motivation for him to jump on Twitter and line one up. Earlier today, McGregor took a shot at the upcoming BMF title fight between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal:

Obviously the short tweet is open to interpretation, but I think the clear implication is that McGregor himself is the “official” BMF belt-holder thanks to his 2016 victory over Nate Diaz. More importantly, McGregor is likely looking to line himself up for a bout with the victor. That’s a smart plan for McGregor, a big money bout that would not hold up any of the actual titles, meaning he’s more likely to receive his wish.

A win over the Diaz vs. Masvidal victor would likely set the Irishman up for a real title shot too. Not everyone is on board with that plan, however. Dustin Poirier has been angling for a rematch with McGregor, and he took an opportunity here to once again call him out.

Lamely, McGregor responded with the completely unrelated fact that he’s a very wealthy man.

Poirier, Frankie Edgar, Justin Gaethje, and plenty more have been requesting a bout with McGregor, but this is perhaps the first time McGregor has hinted at an interest against anyone other than Khabib Nurmagomedov. It’s certainly a more realistic match up than an instant rematch with “The Eagle.”

Insomnia

He may not have won the belt, but it really does my heart good to see the MMA world embrace Thiago Santos. “Marreta” has been a personal favorite for a long time now, and that savage deserves the love. He’s also the only man worthy of his Mjölnir chest piece.

Yoel Romero wants a shot at “Stylebender.”

Speaking of Romero, this clip of Whittaker comparing their two battles is worth a watch.

This classic wrestling warm up is actually easier than it appears, but it’s a great way to practice popping the hips for a throw/lift. Full disclosure: I practice on my girlfriend sometimes because it’s really funny.

Stipe Miocic vs. Daniel Cormier 3 is one of the more difficult fights to predict in recent memory. Cormier did so well in most of the rematch, but Miocic also seemed to figure him out completely.

Tony Ferguson is REALLY obsessed with the whole Tiramisu thing. This video is next level:

Slips, rips, and KO clips

Is there anything more satisfying than slick head movement?

It’s not entirely fair to judge an entire fight from a small clip, but this seems like an absolute mismatch.

Tai Tuivasa’s debut knockout was pretty incredible. Think he returns to form against Sergey Spivac on Saturday night?

Random Land

This is pretty solid production for a joke Twitter video!
