Macfarlane vs Jackson | Bellator MMA
Ilima-Lei Macfarlane is the undefeated Bellator Flyweight champion at 10-0. The hard hitting Kate Jackson is slightly more experienced at 11-3-1 with back-to-back wins in the Bellator cage. On December 21, 2019, these two opposing forces meet on Macfarlane’s home turf.
Bellator MMA announced a yet-to-be-numbered event during the live Bellator 229 broadcast in Temecula, California. The venue will be Neal S. Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu,, Hawaii, the same venue where Macfarlane scored the most emotional win of her career last year in a successful title defense against Valerie Letourneau.
Although Macfarlane’s 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu game is unmatched in her division, with 60 percent of her victories coming by way of submission, Jackson showed in a win over Lena Ovchynnikova that she fears no submission expert. Macfarlane’s stand up game will need to be at her best.
One other fight is already booked for the card and it was announced at Bellator 228. A.J. McKee (15-0) vs. Derek Campos (20-9) will be a quarterfinal bout in the Featherweight Grand Prix. No other bouts have been announced at this time.
