Check out all the ways you can watch UFC 243, live from Melbourne, Australia.
The UFC is in Australia this weekend where UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker, the company’s first champion to represent Australia and New Zealand, takes on interim title holder Israel Adesanya, who is repping New Zealand, too (alongside Nigeria).
The headline fight is the first contest for Whittaker since his bout with Yoel Romero last June. He was supposed to face Kelvin Gastelum last November, but he was pulled from the bout hours before the show for emergency surgery to address an abdominal hernia of the intestine and a collapsed bowel. Adesanya earned his interim belt, and shot at Whittaker, with a win over Gastelum at April’s UFC 236.
The co-main event tonight pits Adesanya’s City Kickboxing teammate Dan Hooker versus the always entertaining Al Iaquinta. That fight goes down in the lightweight division. Rounding out the pay-per-view are clashes between Tai Tuivasa and Sergey Spivak (heavyweight), Luke Jumeau vs. Dhiego Lima (welterweight), and Justin Tafa vs. Yorgan De Castro (heavyweight).
The preliminary card, which starts at 8PM ET (sorry Aussies) is headlined by welterweights Jake Matthews and Rostam Akman. Before they fight, Callan Potter takes on Maki Pitolo also at welterweight, Jamie Mullarkey fights Brad Riddell at lightweight, and Megan Anderson returns to face Zarah Farim dos Santos at featherweight.
The early prelims start at 6:45PM ET. Just two fights scheduled for this portion of the card, Nadia Kassem vs. Ji Yeon Kim and Khalid Taha vs. Bruno Silva. Both those bouts are at catchweight thanks to Kim and Taha missing weight.
