Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight smashing machine, Francis Ngannou, was hoping to get the next crack at the 265-pound title, but then Stipe Miocic evened the score at UFC 241 last August, forcing an early 2020 trilogy with Daniel Cormier.
That leaves “The Predator” high and dry. Already sitting at No. 2 in the division, Ngannou (14-3) holds knockout wins over former champion Junior dos Santos and wrestling powerhouse Curtis Blaydes, ranked No. 3 and No. 4, respectively.
“Well! It seems like everybody is changing divisions but there is not upper division so I guess I’ll always be at [heavyweight] lol,” Ngannou, 33, wrote on social media. “UFC, I want to fight in December. Preferably in Vegas, otherwise I’ll fight anywhere as long as I get to fight. This is sucks.”

There was talk of having Jones move up to 265 pounds in order to throw hands with Ngannou; however, the attention has now shifted to “Bones” taking on newly-crowned middleweight champion and “Last Stylebender,” Israel Adesanya.
It doesn’t sound like “The Predator” has too many options for the time being and the only way he’s making light heavyweight is if they cut off his leg. The best case scenario is UFC books Adesanya against Paulo Costa, leaving Jones free to battle Ngannou.
