It’s already been one year since UFC 229: Khabib vs. McGregor.

Both men locked horns in the UFC 229 main event at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, with all hell breaking loose after Khabib submitted McGregor in the fourth round to retain his lightweight title.

‘The Eagle’ leapt over the cage to attack McGregor’s teammate and friend Dillon Danis and ‘The Notorious’ retaliated by attacking one of Khabib’s teammates inside the Octagon.

One year on, and there is still bad blood between the two lightweights, as McGregor posted a Tweet on Monday alleging that Nurmagomedov was ‘shitting’ it after dropping the Irishman in the second round.

“Fuck an 8 count let’s dance baby #1yearago #moscow #shitinthebus #runningandshittingatthesametime.”

Although McGregor is clearly angling for a rematch with the undefeated Dagestani, Khabib says his next title defense will be against former interim lightweight champ and top contender Tony Ferguson. Nurmagomedov is also interested in a mega-fight with former UFC welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre, who appears to be in the process of cutting a lot of weight.

McGregor, who hasn’t fought since his loss to Nurmagomedov, is expected to make a comeback in the new year.
