“Ruthless” needs an opponent and “Platinum” just so happens to be down to throw down.
Robbie Lawler was supposed to fight Santiago Ponzinibbio at UFC 245, which takes place inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Dec. 14, 2019; however, the Brazilian was forced to withdraw from the pay-per-view (PPV) event because of a staph infection (details).
Naturally, with the Argentinean ruled out, the former Welterweight champion is left without a dance partner. Good news for “Ruthless:” MMA party favor Mike Perry — who is looking to rebound from a recent split decision loss to Vicente Luque — says it would be an honor to step in and fight Lawler. And, of course, “Platinum” promises there would be some heavy leather thrown on both sides.
Perry, who was in attendance at UFC Fight Night 161 in Tampa, Fla., this weekend, discussed how his recovery has been going since the horrible broken nose sustained in his last bout (see it), how he’s been training, and how he is always ready in the embedded video player above.
