Kron Gracie thinks he did enough to warrant a decision win against Cub Swanson at UFC Tampa.
It seemed like quite a clear decision at UFC Tampa, but Kron Gracie begs to differ. After losing his first ever professional MMA bout in Florida, against seasoned veteran Cub Swanson via unanimous decision, the Brazilian ojiu-jitsu ace shared his opinion on his Instagram account. There, he simply stated that he thought he won the bout in a story post.
In the post, Kron shared another picture from the UFC’s official account, in which said that himself and Swanson had won the ‘Fight of The Night’ bonus, but on top of it Gracie wrote ‘I won that fight’, although all three judges scored co-main event 30-27 for Cub, a decision which seems unanimous in the MMA media circle, as well. So far, Gracie has not said another word about the matter.
Before the loss, Kron Gracie (5-1) was on a five-fight winning streak, with all victories coming by way of submission, which included rear-naked chokes of veteran Tatsuya Kawajiri, in December 2016, at Rizin World Grand-Prix 2016: Final Round and Alex Caceres in the 31-year-old’s Octagon debut, back in February, at UFC Phoenix.
UFC Fight Night 161 was held in Tampa, Florida, on October 12. In its main event, former female strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk picked up an unanimous decision win over top contender Michelle Waterson after five rounds.
