Niko Price wants his own “baddest motherf—r” title fight some time in the future.
Welterweight fighter Niko Price scored another impressive win off his back on Saturday night at UFC Tampa. “The Hybrid” won the fight via an upkick in the first round, earning him an extra $50,000 for Performance of the Night.
Now 4-2 in his last six fights, Price has yet to decide on what his next move will be. While he gave the standard answer of “whoever the UFC gives me,” he does have aspirations to become the next “baddest motherf—ker” titleholder.
“Whatever the UFC brings, man. I’m here, I’m waiting,” Price told reporters during a post-fight scrum. “They know what’s right. They know what they want from me. I’m right here. ‘BMF’ belt sounds cool, though.
“If they keep it here, I’m down to go for it.”
Price’s desire to become a future “BMF” champion likely stems from the fighter he’s drawn inspiration from, Nick Diaz.
“Nick Diaz was my original, like, ‘Yo, that’s my favorite fighter, ever,’” he said. “Part of my stuff, I try to sort of be like him, but myself.”
Price’s record improved to 14-3 (with 1 NC and 13 wins by stoppage).
