Oddly, it seems like Daniel Cormier is moving back the P4P list in the UFC rankings
Coming out of a pretty good UFC 243 card in Australia, the UFC brought the Octagon over to Tampa for an event in the Amalie Center. It was largely a one-fight card in terms of rankings relevancy, with Joanna Jedrzejczyk dominating Michelle Waterson over five rounds to get herself back into title contention at strawweight.
Other than that, the only really notable thing from this week’s rankings changes is Daniel Cormier inching back into the top 5 at pound-for-pound, where he’s tied with Amanda Nunes.
Here’s a look at the few changes this week.
P4P – Cormier moved up one spot into a tie for five. Tony Ferguson moved up one to nine, dropping Kamaru Usman to ten.
Heavyweight – Alistair Overeem and Alexander Volkov flip-flopped the six and seven spot. Sergehi Spivac makes his rankings debut at 15.
Light Heavyweight – Shogun Rua is up one to 14, dropping Nikita Krylov to 15.
Middlweight – No changes.
Welterweight – No changes.
Lightweight – No changes.
Featherweight – No changes.
Bantamweight – No changes.
Flyweight – Brandon Moreno is up one to six. Rogerio Bontorin and Kai Kara France are up and tied for seven. Tim Elliott drops three spots to eight after losing to Deiveson Figueiredo.
Women’s Bantamweight – Julianna Pena is up one to four, dropping Aspen Ladd to five. Macy Chiasson falls one to take over the 12 spot on her own.
Women’s Flyweight – Lauren Murphy falls one spot to take over nine on her own.
Women’s Strawweight – Joanna’s dominant win moves her up one spot to four, dropping the now-inactive Nina Ansaroff one to five. Carla Esparza is up one spot into a tie for seven with Waterson. Amanda Ribas makes her rankings debut at 15 after taking a wide decision win over Mackenzie Dern.
