It sounds like former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion Luke Rockhold, who also wore gold under the Strikeforce banner, is probably finished with his mixed martial arts (MMA) career.

“I have no interest in fighting right now,” he told ESPN, before indicating that it was “very” likely he was never coming back to combat sports. Considering he’s now 35 and making a decent living outside the Octagon, I can’t say I blame him.

That said, I do wonder if the longtime American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) product made that decision in the wake of his knockout loss to Jan Blachowicz. Moving up to light heavyweight was supposed to put the 16-5 Rockhold “in the mix.”

Instead, it sent him to his third loss in four fights.

He also battled a string of grisly injuries in the second half of his MMA career and only competed once per year over the last four years. Nothing is official at this time; however, the probability of a 205-pound comeback seems low.

Unless this wacky scenario comes to pass.
