Fighter manager Ali Abdelaziz won’t be seen in future PFL events from the time being, until his battery charge is resolved.

Fighter manager Ali Abdelaziz won’t be making any appearances in PFL events any time soon. According to ESPN, it was a decision made by the organization, following Abdelaziz’s recent battery charge from a scuffle with fellow manager Abraham Kawa during a PFL show last October 11th.

As noted in the filed police report, Abdelaziz struck Kawa “with a closed fist” in the VIP section of the Mandalay Events Center. He is now barred from attending any PFL events until his charges are resolved.

While he has yet to be formally charged, Abdelaziz says he wishes to not interfere with his fighters who were competing at PFL Playoffs 2 on Thursday.

“I spoke to PFL executives earlier this week and I don’t want this story to be about me,” Abdelaziz told ESPN. “The focus should be on my athletes in the PFL. I have 10 athletes fighting on Thursday and we made sure everybody made weight and has everything they need. I continue to support my athletes.”

Abdelaziz is facing another battery charge in Las Vegas, stemming from his brawl with Colby Covington at the Palms Casino after UFC 235 in March. The trial for that incident is scheduled for November 25th at the Las Vegas Township Justice Court.
