Korean Zombie refutes Brian Ortega’s claim that there are holes in his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
Top-three UFC featherweight contender Brian Ortega has one of the best guillotine chokes in the game, and ‘T-City’ will look to add another highlight reel submission victory to his resume when he takes on Korean fan favorite Chan Sung Jung — otherwise known as ‘Korean Zombie’ — at UFC on ESPN+ 23 on Dec. 21.
The pair recently came face-to-face at a press conference to promote the event, where Ortega put Korean Zombie’s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu on blast. Although Jung has never lost via submission and is the only fighter on the UFC roster to win by twister, Ortega believes there are glaring holes in the Korean’s grappling.
Jung, however, couldn’t disagree more. Speaking at Thursday’s press conference in his native South Korea, the former UFC featherweight title challenger said he believes he has the superior jiu jitsu game.
“I don’t necessarily agree,” Jung said, per MMA Junkie. “I think my jiu-jitsu is strong. I think I’m actually better at it and I am a better grappler.”
Ortega found Jung’s rebuttal amusing and responded by challenging the MMA veteran to a grappling match at the press conference.
Ortega will get to test Jung’s submission game in the UFC on ESPN+ 23 main event at Sajik Arena in Busan, South Korea on December 21.
