Chris Weidman and Dominick Reyes faced each other in a Light Heavyweight clash tonight (Fri., Oct. 18, 2019) at UFC on ESPN 6, which took place inside TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. With a perfectly placed left hand, Reyes scored an early knockout.
Reyes opened the bout with a left kick to the leg. Weidman countered the first attempted cross of his foe with a perfectly timed double leg shot. Reyes bounced back up, but Weidman stayed on the body lock. Before long, Reyes escaped back to the center, though Weidman landed a body kick. As Weidman stepped forward, Reyes took a step backward and sent a cross directly into his opponent’s jaw. Weidman hit the mat, and seconds later, a series of hammer fists ended the night fully.
This was pretty much a perfect performance for Reyes, who quickly denied the takedown and dispatched Weidman with the ease of a contender.
Result: Dominick Reyes defeat Chris Weidman via knockout at 1:43 of round one
