Jorge Masvidal is confident his bout with Nate Diaz will occur as scheduled next weekend at UFC 244.

Jorge Masvidal is on Nate Diaz’s side in light of Diaz’s recent announcement that he failed a drug test.

Masvidal on Thursday called Diaz “one of the cleanest mofos” and said he is confident his UFC 244 bout with Diaz will go on as planned.

“You not the baddest mofo in the game (I am) but you are one of the cleanest mofos @NateDiaz209,” Masvidal wrote on Twitter. “I’ll see you Nov. 2. I know your name is clean. I don’t need @usantidoping to tell me sh-t!”

Diaz said Thursday he failed a drug test for “elevated levels” that “could” be a result of a contaminated supplement. Diaz, who is scheduled to fight Masvidal in the UFC 244 main event Nov. 2 at Madison Square Garden in New York, said he expects the fight to be cancelled.

“Until the UFC, Usada or whoever is F-CKING with me Fixes it, I won’t be competing,” Diaz wrote. … “Fight game I’ll see you when I see you.”

Masvidal vs. Diaz is a highly anticipated welterweight contest. Diaz called out Masvidal after an August win over former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, and Masvidal was on board with the matchup right away. The UFC is marketing it as the “Baddest Motherf-cker In the Game” fight, with a one-off “BMF” belt on the line.

Masvidal, a veteran of the sport, had a big boost in stardom after a five-second knockout of Ben Askren at UFC 239 in July.
