Manager Abraham Kawa spoke in behalf of Jorge Masvidal, who called for a rematch against Demian Maia following UFC Singapore.
If there is one fight that Jorge Masvidal apparently wants to get back, it is his loss to Demian Maia more than two years ago. That is at least according to Masvidal’s manager Abraham Kawa.
Right after Maia’s win over Ben Askren at UFC Fight Night Singapore, Kawa posted this tweet, speaking in behalf of his client.
Just spoke to @GamebredFighter and he wants maia to save his last fight for him. Says after he wins the gold he will give him his shot. He really wants to run that one back.

During his post-fight interview, the 41-year-old Maia revealed he only sees himself taking two more fights before he finally hangs it up. The next opponent he sees himself facing is fellow veteran Diego Sanchez.
Maia and Masvidal first fought each other at UFC 211 in May 2017. The Brazilian took home the win via a split decision verdict, showing his usual edge in grappling.
“Gamebred” lost another time against Stephen Thompson, before racking up two impressive stoppage wins against Darren Till and Ben Askren, respectively.
He is now slated to headline UFC 244 against Nate Diaz, as the two contend for the inaugural “baddest motherf—ker” title at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
