Phil Baroni is still fighting.
The former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight has competed for almost every major mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion over the years, including PRIDE FC, Strikeforce, Bellator MMA, and ONE Championship.
Just don’t expect the “New York Bad Ass” to slow down now that he’s throwing hands in Thailand, a decision that left him with a pretty gnarly axe wound above his left eye. All in a day’s work, I suppose, but Baroni, 43, claims the referee’s stoppage kept him from the win column in his last fight.
Here’s some of the action:
“Wasn’t even that bad,” Baroni wrote on Instagram. “Thai jabroni got saved by the ref. Joe Schilling rest up. Bellator Kickboxing, Glory Kickboxing, let’s have a date. John Wayne Parr beat that. I think I’m more scarred up than you are brotha and my nose is way more fucked haha.”
Baroni (16-19) last competed in MMA back in September, losing to Sai Wang by way of rear-naked choke under the Rebel FC banner.
