Polish MMA star Marcin Held is set to meet 10th Planet’s PJ Barch at Polaris 12
Marcin Held is set to meet a 10th Planet black belt again, but this time it’s scheduled to take place at Polaris.
At Quintet 3, Polish leg lock phenom Marcin Held scored an upset by submitting Geo Martinez in just over a minute. While Held has always been known for his MMA grappling, tapping out Martinez was the highlight of his grappling career and showcased that he could hang with the elite of the grappling world.
PJ Barch isn’t as well-known as his team mate and close friend Geo Martinez, but he is probably the next great 10th Planet star. While he has been derailed by injuries as of late, in 2017 and 2018, Barch was slowly building momentum and showing he had the potential to hang with the best in the world. Barch’s career defining win thus far was his submission victory over former world champion and ADCC medalist Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro.
Marcin Held is an anomaly in the world of MMA fighters. Instead of favoring a positional game, Held is known for his never-ending pursuit of the submission and he is a real throw back to JMMA stars like Imanari. Barch is scramble-heavy like most 10th Planet representatives and he puts on a non-stop pace.
Polaris 12 takes place at the international Convention Centre (ICC) in Newport and will air live on UFC Fight Pass.
