Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President, Dana White, has made up his mind about the 205-pound division, despite the delay in matchmaking, and appears ready to book Jon Jones against Dominick Reyes for early 2020.

“The Dominator” is coming off last month’s first-round destruction of former middleweight champion Chris Weidman, which took place in the UFC on ESPN 6 main event in Boston and improved his record to 12-0 with nine finishes.

“The fight that makes sense for Jon Jones right now is Dominick Reyes,” White told TMZ Sports. “He just came off an impressive win over Weidman and a lot of people saw it. It pulled good ratings on TV. It’s the fight to make.”

Jones (25-1, 1 NC) has been sitting at home with nothing to do after outlasting Thiago Santos at UFC 239 last July. There were rumors of a potential fight against Israel Adesanya, or perhaps even Francis Ngannou, but White appears to have other plans.

No date or venue has been agreed upon at this time and contracts are still pending; however, barring some unforeseen circumstance, it looks like Jones vs. Reyes is the next fight at 205 pounds. Unless “Bones” does something crazy (like this).
