Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is on the hunt for a new welterweight combatant to replace the injured Carlos Condit, who was bounced from his Mickey Gall fight at the upcoming UFC on ESPN 7 event next month in Washington D.C.
That’s according to a report from MMA Junkie.
It’s been a rough couple of years for Condit (30-13), who at one time held the interim 170-pound title and was considered the second-best welterweight in the world, behind Georges St-Pierre. Including his defeat to “Rush,” the “Natural Born Killer” has dropped eight of his last 10, three of them by submission.
As for Gall (6-2), he’s looking to build on his Salim Touahri win from last August. The New Jersey grappler is perhaps best known for spoiling the Octagon debut of WWE import CM Punk back in Sept. 2016, before moving on to submit Sage Northcutt later that year.
