Looks like UFC wasn’t the only promotion to lose a high-profile fight overseas, as Ben Henderson has been pulled from his Michael Chandler lightweight rematch in Japan after suffering an undisclosed injury.

“I just wanted to take the time to apologize and say that I got an injury and I will not be able to participate in the Dec. 29 festivities in Japan, so I won’t make it out there,” Henderson said. “I got hurt, I got an injury and I can’t fight, so I’m sorry. I’m hoping that Bellator sets it up, reschedules it for later on, Chandler and I, and we can be able to settle some things.”

With Henderson on the bench, Bellator MMA veteran Sidney Outlaw, 27, will step in on short notice for the RIZIN crossover event on Dec. 29 inside Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. “Da Gun” (14-3) is the winner of nine straight with five submission finishes.

“You can’t control what happens to you in life… you can only control how you respond,” Chandler (19-5) wrote on social media.
