Jairzinho Rozenstruick decided to shoot his shot and he ended up scoring big. “Bigi Boy” has been booked to headline an upcoming UFC Fight Night event on March 28 in Columbus, Ohio against none other than fellow big man, Francis Ngannou.
Rozenstruick called for the showdown against “The Predator” following his last second knockout win over Alistair Overeem at last weekend’s (Sat., Dec 7, 2019) UFC on ESPN 7 event in Washington, D.C.
The victory — albeit controversial — earned “Bigi Boy” his fourth straight inside the Octagon in 2019, all via knockout. The fight brought him to a perfect 10-0 in his young mixed martial arts (MMA) career. Now, the heavy-handed big man will look to sneak his way to the front of the championship line if he can stun “The Predator.”
As for Ngannou, he has been pleading with UFC matchmakers to get him a fight for months now, as his last bout saw him knockout Junior dos Santos in the very first round this past June (recap). Prior to that, Ngannou slept Cain Velasquez in February, with both fights lasting a combined time of one minute and 37 seconds.
Francis seemingly reached his boiling point with UFC keeping him on ice for the last few months, going s far as saying he would likely fight out his contract and test the free agent market. But now that he’s got a fight on his hands, the big man can get back to what he does best.
And it’s a good thing, too, as a championship trilogy fight between Heavyweight king Stipe Miococ, and former division champion, Daniel Cormier, isn’t expected to go down until mid-2020.
