Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is just hours away from its most stacked fight card of the year, featuring a championship tripleheader available only by way of ESPN+ pay-per-view (PPV) TONIGHT (Sat., Dec. 14, 2019) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Leading the charge will be the welterweight title fight pitting newly crowned 170-pound champion, Kamaru Usman, opposite division No. 1 contender, Colby Covington.
Usman (15-1) hasn’t competed since dethroning Tyron Woodley at UFC 235 earlier this year in Las Vegas, thanks to an injury timeout that seemed to stretch on forever. In his absence, Covington (15-1) accepted a Robbie Lawler fight on ESPN and scored a dominant unanimous decision win over the “Ruthless” veteran. They were originally expected to throw down at UFC 244 in New York; however, contract negotiations delayed their inevitable showdown to December.
