It’s safe to say that Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington are no longer friends.
It’s pretty obvious by now that former training partners Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington don’t share a lot of love any more. Covington went scorched earth on everyone in his wake leading into UFC 245, and that included a guy that has been on his side for a long time in Gamebred. So it should come as no surprise that when Colby came up short at UFC 245, Masvidal had something to say about it.
And it was pretty savage.
They say never kick a man when he is down but you not a man. Should’ve paid my coach, it’s cheaper than getting your jaw wired shut #thecrucifixation

If you don’t already know, Covington fought through a broken jaw from the third round on in his UFC 245 headliner for the welterweight title. Eventually though, he stopped by Kamaru Usman late in the fifth after being dropped twice and pounded out. Covington predictably lashed out at almost everyone involved follwing the fight, but Masvidal seemed like an afterthought in his tirade.
Guess it didn’t matter though, because comuppance is sweet.
Masvidal looks to get the next shot at Usman following the outcome of the fight, something Dana White seems to be on board with. What’s next for Colby is unclear, but he’ll have no shortage of suitors when he returns from his injuries and steps in the cage again.
