The UFC releases the first official promo for the UFC 246 main event.

Appropriately titled “The Showdown”, the UFC has released the first promo for the UFC 246 headliner between Donald Cerrone and Conor McGregor. The main event will take place on January 18th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

The promo has been produced over the sounds of an ominous cover version of the Rolling Stones hit song, Paint it Black, by Valerie Broussard. It is reminiscent of the well-received UFC 205 at MSG trailer and will mark the return of the former two-weight UFC champion, who lost in dramatic fashion at UFC 229 against Khabib Nurmagomedov in his last outing.

McGregor has his sights set on multiple opponents assuming he’s beats Cerrone, including a rematch with ‘The Eagle’ and a bout with Jorge Masvidal.

Currently standing in his way is Cowboy, who will look to rebound from two consecutive TKO stoppages. This marks only the second time in Cerrone’s career where he has lost two or more in a row.

Also announced for the card is a rematch between Holly Holm and Raquel Pennington, along with a lightweight bout between Anthony Pettis and Carlos Diego Ferreira.
