Rory MacDonald started in UFC, left and went to Bellator, and will now try his luck for PFL, which reminds me of the summer I got fired from Macy’s, got a new job at K-mart, then finished the year pumping gas for Exxon.

Hey, you do what you gotta do to pay those bills.

MacDonald told the combat sport media that his Bellator contract had expired in the wake of his unanimous decision loss to Douglas Lima back in October; however, promotion president, Scott Coker, expressed interest in holding on to the Canadian welterweight through 2020 and beyond.

I guess “Red King” didn’t get the Email.

“I’m excited to join the PFL where every year the world championship and $1 million belt is there for the best fighter, without any games or politics,” MacDonald told ESPN. “I believe in the PFL sport-season format and fighters-first organization.”

A date for his PFL debut has yet to be established.
