Bringing you the weird and wild from the world of MMA each and every weeknight!
Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Henry Cejudo is the latest man to achieve the incredible result of simultaneous two—division champion, but he’s also the most recent to be stripped of his title per BJPenn.com. The news was later confirmed by MMAJunkie, who also took a quote from “Triple C,” as the former Olympian argued that he was not stripped of the belt, “No, I am not being stripped. I am relinquishing my title. Correction! ‘Triple C’ is relinquishing his title to these wannabe, so-called flyweight kingpins. That’s what’s going on. I’m relinquishing my belt. Being stripped is not what I’m doing. I’m relinquishing, and you can tell them all to bend the knee.”
Regardless of whether Cejudo was stripped or did indeed chose to step down, suddenly the Flyweight title is vacant. To that end, UFC will pit longtime contender Joseph Benavidez opposite knockout artist Deiveson Figueiredo, which is scheduled to headline UFC on ESPN+ 27 on Feb. 29, 2020 in Norfolk, Virginia.
Benavidez, who rides a three-fight win streak and holds a previous win over Cejudo, seemed next in line for a shot at “Triple C.” However, a shot at the vacant title is the next best option, and Figueiredo has certainly earned his position as well. The fiery Brazilian has won two straight and six of seven total bouts in the Octagon.
Given the high-action nature of both athletes, it should prove a tremendous scrap.

Ilima-Lei MacFarlane is super dope — she might end up a pretty big star if she keeps winning!
These faux martial arts clips are always fun, but the dude on the bottom is so red I’m genuinely concerned he may be having a stroke.
Heads up, Alistair Overeem is back to being far more handsome than the rest of us.
