“What the world is looking for is for him to suffer and get chastised for some of the things that he’s done in public.”
After beating Nate Diaz to win the ‘BMF’ title at UFC 247, what’s next for Jorge Masvidal?
The surging welterweight has called out everyone from Canelo Alvarez to UFC welterweight champ Kamaru Usman but, as of right now, ‘Gamebred’ seems most interested in a prize fight with former UFC dual division champ Conor McGregor.
McGregor is set to return to the cage against Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone next month at UFC 246 and, if victorious, Masvidal has promised to baptise the Irishman and cleanse him of his sins.
“He gets melted,” Masvidal said in a recent interview with Jim Rome (h/t MMA Fighting). “What the world is looking for is for him to suffer and get chastised for some of the things that he’s done in public. Everybody’s gonna feel sorry for him after the fight, I can tell you that much. They’ll forgive him all after the fight. This baptisms going to be a little extra for Mr. Conor.”
McGregor received huge public backlash earlier this year after he physically attacked a man at a pub in Drimnagh, Ireland. ‘The Notorious’ pled guilty to assault and was fined $1,116.68.
UFC 246: McGregor vs. Cerrone takes place next month, Jan. 18 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
