Conor McGregor has Frankie Edgar’s back when it comes to internet trolls.
One of the more peculiar things about Conor McGregor is who he chooses to support in the UFC. While he has famously brought his own version of trash talk to the social media table many a time about many a person, one guy has been seemingly left out of the mix – Frankie Edgar.
For whatever reason, McGregor has always been complimentary and supportive when it comes to the former lightweight champion. And when Edgar got trolled by some on social media following a TKO loss to Chan Sung Jung at UFC Busan and complained about it, Conor offered some words of encouragement:
Why do the negative comments alway get to you the most? Thanks for the love from most of you out there. To the others I’m sure it won’t be your last shitty comment to dish out. Let’s not give power to these people. Thanks for the ?? to the real ones out there! #Fe

If you don’t recognize the lyrics he’s using, they just happen to be from Edgar’s UFC walkout song – “Kick in the Door”, by Notorious B.I.G.
Edgar responded with the proper respect:

Aww, isn’t that nice! And just before the holidays too!
Edgar (22-8-1, 17-8-1 UFC) will likely still go forward with a move to bantamweight after the loss over the weekend. McGregor (21-4, 9-2 UFC) will compete in the Octagon for the first time since a loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov when he headlines UFC 246 against Donald Cerrone on January 18th.
