UFC light heavyweight fighter Khalil Rountree is already planning his retirement.

UFC light heavyweight fighter Khalil Rountree will be closing the door on his career some time soon. In a recent Instagram story he posted, “The War Horse” announced that his next fight will be his last.

The 29-year-old Rountree was part of Joanna J?drzejczyk’s team of light heavyweight fighters at TUF 23 against Claudia Gadelha’s team in 2016. He advanced to the finale, but ended up losing by decision.

Rountree compiled a 4-4 record in the UFC, with one No Contest verdict. He won one Performance of the Night bonus when he knocked out Gokhan Saki in the first round of their fight at UFC 226 in July 2018.

Prior to his fight against Eryk Anders at UFC 236 in April, Rountree flew to Thailand to sharpen his Muay Thai skills. His training paid off and was in full display during the fight, which led him to a unanimous decision victory.

Rountree last fought in September in Copenhagen against Ion Cutelaba and lost via first round TKO. He holds a record of 8-4 (with 1 NC and 5 wins by knockout).
