One half of the “Pitbull” brothers, Patricky Freire, looked to replicate his brother’s championship success in Bellator MMA by entering the RIZIN 20 lightweight grand prix in Japan, where a nasty soccer kick over Luiz Gustavo elevated him to the tourney final.

Unfortunately, streaking Azerbaijanian sensation, Tofiq Musaev, would not be denied.

“Patricky broke his hand in that first fight in the semis and went into the second fight with a broken hand,” Freire’s coach, Eric Albarracin, wrote on Instagram. “We made sure not to take the bandage off so it would swell up, so we kept the bandages on. We kept his wraps on, and he fought with a broken hand and put it all on the line. He put it all out there.”

Musaev improved to 18-3 with the victory and has now won 14 in a row, racking up 12 violent finishes along the way. That includes his stoppage over Johnny Case earlier in the night. Get complete RIZIN 20 results and play-by-play here.
