Manager Ali Abdelaziz speaks about Conor McGregor recent callout to Justin Gaethje.
With his UFC return in full swing, Conor McGregor says he is ready to take on all comers. If he gets through Donald Cerrone at UFC 246, “The Notorious” will shift his attention to top-ranked contender Justin Gaethje.
“He’s on the list. He is on the list. Maybe I will face him next. Maybe I’ll face him next, you know? He has it coming to him,” McGregor recently told The Mac Life. “I mean laugh at how Justin is behaving. He’s a funny guy. He’s been taking it very to heart, you know? And I know the feeling when you do that.”
But according to Gaethje’s manager Ali Abdelaziz, McGregor does not really want this fight to happen.
“Conor does not want to have anything to do with Gaethje,” Abdelaziz told TMZ Sports. “Gaethje takes a lot of people into deep water. We understand Conor is a quitter. He quits when he’s in deep water. Why the hell does he need this fight?
“The UFC made the right choice, his team made the right choice not to fight Gaethje because he would’ve beat his ass. Simple.”
UFC 246 takes place on January 18 in Las Vegas.
