Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) “champ-champ,” Conor McGregor, was the center of two separate sexual assault allegations back in 2019, both of which “Notorious” and his team vehemently deny.

That said, the power-punching Irishman hasn’t done a ton of press during his 15-month mixed martial arts (MMA) hiatus and has never been directly confronted with the questions by the combat sports media during the rare times that he does grant an interview.

That is, until his recent sit-down with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, who asked him face-to-face if the accusations were indeed false.

“Yes, of course,” McGregor said. “100 percent, what the hell Ariel, come on. Seriously? Time, time, please just time, that’s all. Time will reveal all and time will tell all.”

Speaking of time, McGregor only has a few more days before he fights Donald Cerrone in the UFC 246 pay-per-view (PPV) main event, which takes place this weekend (Sat., Jan. 18, 2020) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

After that? Patience is a virtue.

“Time, patience … patience is a skill we must master,” he said. “Patience is one of the most valuable skills a human being must master. And I am working hard on mastering it and I feel like I am getting there.

“So time will show all,” he continued. “That’s it, right now. I am focused on the bout, positivity and good thoughts. And I will say a prayer for those who try to curse me or bring harm to me with these types of things, and that’s it.”

McGregor was also accused of fathering a child with another woman a few years back, but DNA evidence exonerated “Notorious” and proved he was not the father. Still, the lingering backlash from those accusations took a toll on his family.

“Two and a half years that situation was going on for, so that one was a tough one for a while,” McGregor said. “It is what it is, there you go, it’s not mine.”
