In a recent interview with ESPN’s Ariel Helwani, Conor McGregor made it clear that he’s denying any and all allegations of sexual assault made against him.

In March of 2019, the NY Times published a report – citing anonymous sources – that UFC star Conor McGregor was the subject of an ongoing investigation over charges of sexual assault at a Dublin hotel in December of 2018.

Reports from the UK surrounding the incident didn’t list McGregor by name, referring to him only as an “Irish sports star,” but gave some details on the investigation at the time.

“A young woman allegedly raped by an Irish sports star was taken to hospital by ambulance after gardaí attended her home and found her ‘battered and bruised’ following the apparent attack.”

“She gave an account to gardaí of being raped and beaten by the sportsman in a penthouse suite.

“Gardaí took possession of some of the woman’s bloodstained clothing and made the decision to call an ambulance which took her to a sexual assault treatment unit at the Rotunda Hospital for an immediate assessment.

“Gardaí travelled with her to the hospital for this process, which is protocol. The young woman was later released from hospital. Since then, gardaí have remained in contact with the woman.”

While formal charges stemming from the incident have not been brought against McGregor, a second case was also reported by the NY Times in October, in which McGregor has been accused of assaulting a woman in a car outside a Dublin pub. Along with reports that McGregor and his entourage forced a bottle girl into a car outside a Los Angeles nightclub, smashed a man’s cell phone outside a Miami hotel, and punched a man in a Dublin bar over a shot of whiskey, stories about McGregor’s alleged criminal conduct have been the driving narrative of the former UFC champion’s 2019.

However, with his upcoming return to action against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246, on January 18th, McGregor sat down with ESPN in an attempt to set the record straight when it came to the two allegations of sexual assault against him.

“Look, just no, I can’t say anything about this. It just has to take place, right?” McGregor told Ariel Helwani when asked for comment.

“Time, time, time Ariel. Patience. Patience is a skill we must master. Patience is one of the most valuable skills a human being must master. And I’m working hard to master it, and I feel I’m getting there. So, Time will show all them. That’s it.

“Right now, I’m focused on the belt. Focused; positivity, good thoughts. And I’ll say a prayer for those who’d try and curse me, try and bring harm to me with these type of things. And that’s it.”

When asked point blank if he denied the allegations against him, McGregor was unreserved. “Yes, of course. Of course. Yes, [bleeped]-ing hell Ariel, c’mon. Seriously. Time, time, please just time, that’s all. Time will reveal all. Time will tell all them. And yeah, I just, that’s it.”
