Michael Bisping isn’t sure what the future holds for Rafael dos Anjos.

Michael Bisping isn’t sure where Rafael dos Anjos can go following his decision loss to Michael Chiesa at UFC Fight Night 166 last month.

It marked dos Anjos’ fourth loss in his last five fights and, although the Brazilian has only lost to the divisional elite, Bisping thinks RDA is undersized at welterweight but too heavy to cut back down to 155 lbs, where the 35-year-old once reigned as UFC lightweight king.

“It’s a tough one for Dos Anjos because where does he go now?” podcast host Bisping said on a recent episode of Believe You Me (h/t Abhinav Kini of The Body Lock MMA). “The problem is for him, he’s too small for welterweight. Yeah, he makes welterweight. In fact, two weeks ago when I was in the gym, he was 185 pounds. So he’s not a small welterweight.

“But he is too small. Look at Kamaru [Usman], look at Chiesa. There’s some big welterweights out there. He’s too big for 155 because making 155 kills him and he did that for a long time and he’s a little undersized at welterweight.

“He’s the perfect candidate for the 165-pound division. But listen, well done to Michael Chiesa. Biggest win of his career. And maybe fighting Colby Covington then.”

Dos Anjos has been competing in the UFC for over eleven years and, as of today, is ranked #8 in the official welterweight rankings.
