Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is just days away from its latest pay-per-view (PPV) event, UFC 247, which features a championship double header atop the marquee this weekend (Sat., Feb. 8, 2020) inside Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.

Rather than a traditional fight week press conference, the promotion has once again opted for a more subdued “Athlete Panel” that will be broken up into two parts, keeping the fighters separate from their opponents for whatever reason. UFC 247’s “Athlete Panel” will begin at 7 p.m. today with title challengers Dominick Reyes and Katlyn Chookagian, as well as Heavyweight debutant, Ilir Latifi. Then about 30 minutes later, the dais will be cleared for champions Jon Jones and Valentina Shevchenko, as well as top-ranked Heavyweight, Derrick Lewis.

UFC analyst Jon Anik will host the hour-long event, asking each athlete questions submitted via fans from UFC’s Twitter. Mixed martial arts (MMA) media in attendance will then have about 10 minutes to ask follow up questions.

UFC 247’s “Athlete Panel” will take place at The Ballroom at Bayou Place, which is about 10 minutes away from the event’s host venue. It is free and open to the public for those who are currently in Houston, but it doesn’t sound like fight fans will be allowed to ask questions.

For those who can’t make it to “Space City” today we’ve got you covered — the quasi press conference will stream live in the video player above. In addition, we will be provide additional coverage later tonight and throughout the weekend.
