UFC 247 hosts the biggest fight of Dominick Reyes’ career. “The Devestator” recently recorded a resounding knockout victory over Chris Weidman, faces Jon Jones for the UFC light heavyweight championship of the world.

Reyes, who joined Jim Norton and Matt Serra on the latest episode of UFC Unfiltered, spoke about facing one of the greatest talents the sport of MMA has ever seen.

“I am aware I am an underdog. There’s no secret to it, I don’t feel like I’m the favorite”

Jones (25-1, 1 NC) was the youngest champion in UFC history when he defeated veteran Mauricio “Shogun” Rua in 2011. “Bones” has never lost to another opponent in the octagon, since a disputed disqualification blemish on his record to Matt Hamill. Jones who comes from a family of athletes including his brothers has not lost his competitive edge.

But Reyes has one advantage in his favor, and it’s all to do with location.

Serra asked the title challenger, “I can’t say it’s a huge fight, that’s an understatement. Are you ready to shock the f—king world, Dominick Reyes?”

To which Reyes simply replied, “Hell yeah man. A la you [Serra]. Houston – you took out GSP.”

Matt Serra delivered perhaps the biggest upset in MMA history when he defeated welterweight champion Georges St Pierre in the Toyota Center at UFC 69. Thirteen years on, Reyes will face equally insurmountable odds when he faces Jones in the same arena.

“I have nothing to lose, I have everything to gain. And all I have to do is go out there and show my whole heart. And I love it,” Reyes said.
