MMA: UFC Fight Night-Overeem vs Pavlovich

Heavyweights Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris are scheduled to square off in Portland, Oregon.

Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris are scheduled to meet in the middle of the Octagon once again.

Once paired up to face Overeem back in December 2019, Harris withdrew from the UFC on ESPN main event in order to look for his missing stepdaughter, Aniah Blanchard, who was later found dead by suspected homicide. Now, the UFC officially announced that ‘Big Ticket’ will headline the upcoming UFC Portland event against Overeem in April.

After getting plastic surgery to reconstruct his upper lip that was destroyed by Jairzinho Rozenstruik in his last fight, Alistair Overeem (45-18-1 NC) will look to bounce back from the fifth-round knockout loss. The defeat snapped a two-fight skid for the 39-year-old, who had TKO victories over Sergei Pavlovich and Alexey Oleynik before his last outing.

On the other hand, Walt Harris (13-7-1 NC) will look for his third straight win, after knocking out both Sergey Spivak and most recently, Alexey Oleynik. The 36-year-old could have been on a four-fight streak, but his December 2018 win over Andrei Arlovski was deemed a No Contest after he tested positive for the banned substance Ligandrol.

Additionally, the UFC also announced an intriguing welterweight battle between exciting finishers Vicente Luque and Randy Brown, though it is unclear if the fight will be night’s co-main event.

UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Harris streams live on ESPN+ from the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, April 11th. The main card starts at 10 PM ET/7 PM PT.
