A third straight loss for Juan Adams has ended his time as a UFC fighter.
In a week in which we’ve seen several UFC fighters removed from the roster, you can add another one to the list.
Heavyweight prospect Juan Adams confirmed on Wednesday that he has been let go after his knockout loss to Justin Tafa at UFC 247.
“Spoke with the manager and I’m not in the UFC anymore,” Adams tweeted. “As easy as it would be to give up, I’m going to keep going. I made the changes too late and now i have to pay for that but I have the right pieces in place now. I will continue hoping and working for the best moving forward.”
Adams (5-3) signed with the UFC after winning on Dana White’s Contender Series. He won his UFC debut in impressive fashion against Chris de la Rocha back in 2018, but that turned out to be his only victory over his four-fight stint. A decision loss to Arjan Bhullar was followed by quick knockout defeats to Greg Hardy and the aforementioned Tafa.
At just 28 years old, there’s still plenty of time for the inexperienced Adams to get back on track on the regional scene. For now, this news is certainly not surprising.
