Dan Hooker will look to score his third straight win when he faces Paul Felder in the main event of UFC Fight Night 168 this Saturday night (Feb. 22) inside Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand, which airs exclusively on ESPN+.
Before then, let’s take a trip down memory lane to see one of “The Hangman’s” most dominant victories in recent memory. Back in July of 2019, Hooker took on James Vick at UFC on ESPN 4 in San Antonio, Texas.
Both men got the action started early, as they were eager to set the pace and perhaps find the space to land a big crushing blow from the jump. In the first 90 seconds, they each found their range, exchanging solid shots to the face.
After having his nose busted up a bit, Hooker started utilizing his kicking game, which Vick defended well. Halfway through the fight, Hooker exploded with a vicious left hook that dropped “The Texecutioner.” Once on the ground, “The Hangman” jumped in to deliver the finishing touches to score a first-round knockout win.
Winner of six of his last seven, Hooker now looks to insert himself in the 155-pound title race if he can tame the “Irish Dragon” in New Zealand. A victory gives him three in a row and automatically improves his ranking, as he currently sits at at No. 7.
