While it’s still too early to celebrate, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) strawweight champion, Weili Zhang, got one step closer to making it to the United States after securing her travel visa while training in Abu Dhabi, according to MMA Fighting.

“Magnum” fled Beijing earlier this month in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak, which to date, has infected over 75,000 people and killed 200, most of them in China. Zhang is expected to arrive in Las Vegas by the end of the week.

That’s where she’ll put her 115-pound title on the line against former strawweight champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk. Their UFC 248 pay-per-view (PPV) showdown, scheduled for five rounds, is booked for Sat., March 7, 2020 inside T-Mobile Arena in “Sin City.”

No question Zhang (20-1) will be looking for payback after Jedrzejczyk (16-3) tried to make some coronavirus jokes at her expense (more on that online spat here).
