While the UFC’s first-ever stadium show provided a myriad of memorable
images, Mark Hominick’s forehead certainly was not the least among them.
With a fourth-round elbow creating a budding hematoma that looked
capable of bursting at any moment, Hominick refused
to back down from UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo in the final
round of their UFC 129 title fight this past Saturday night.
The thrilling final frame provided one of the evening’s most memorable
moments for the 55,724 fans that packed Toronto’s Rogers Centre, but
those five minutes of gut-wrenching fighting could have easily never
happened.
