Deontay Wilder speaks up about his loss to Tyson Fury.

Deontay Wilder was looking to defend his WBC heavyweight title for 11th time in a rematch against Tyson Fury on Saturday night. Instead, he dropped the belt via second round TKO, as he tastes defeat for the first time in his 11-year career.

Fury dictated the pace of the entire fight, as Wilder tried to catch up to no avail. After experiencing two knockdowns and a possibly busted eardrum, referee Kenny Bayless called a stop to the fight as Wilder’s corner was about to throw in the towel.

Being the veteran competitor that he is, “The Bronze Bomber” was defiant against the stoppage.

In the post-fight interview, he also expressed disappointment towards his corner.

“I’m ready to go out on my shield, man,” Wilder said. “I had a lot of things going on coming into this fight. But it is what it is.

“I just wish that my corner would’ve let me (go) out on my shield. I’m a warrior, and that’s what I do. But he did what he did, it’s no excuses, and we come back and be stronger.”

Wilder now drops to a record of 42-1-1 (with 41 wins by knockout).
