We hope you enjoyed the first two Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury fights, because a third one is coming your way this summer on July 18th.

The first fight saw the two top heavyweights battle to a draw after Wilder pulled even on the scorecards with Fury off a massive 12th round knockdown. The rematch saw Fury get his revenge with a big right hand that dropped Wilder in the 3rd and left “The Bronze Bomber” so discombobulated his corner ended up throwing in the towel four rounds later (watch the highlights here). That largely one sided affair didn’t stop Deontay from exercising his contractual rights to an immediate rematch which will bring the two back to Vegas for a trilogy fight.

”We did exercise it,” Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel told ESPN. “We want to fight Fury next and we wanted to make sure we sent the letter and that it was done.”

An interesting note for mixed martial arts fans brought up by Ariel Helwani: July 18th is one week after the UFC is set to hold UFC 252. That event is not only the promotion’s big International Fight Week show, but may also feature the return of Conor McGregor. Last week ESPN revealed the UFC was targeting the date for the Irish superstar’s return to the cage, with Justin Gaethje the front runner as far as opponents go. Before you trip over yourself buying plane tickets, it’s worth noting that talks are still ‘very preliminary.’

But regardless of Gaethje’s participation or even McGregor’s, the UFC usually does its best to put a pretty baller card together for their marquee July event. Last year’s UFC 239 featured Jon Jones vs. Thiago Santos and Amanda Nunes vs. Holly Holm. The year before was the first Daniel Cormier vs. Stipe Miocic fight. So if you’re a huge combat sports fan with a pretty free summer, there’s no better place to spend your July than Vegas.
