Israel Adesanya is expected to pass his pre-fight medicals and compete in the UFC 248 pay-per-view (PPV) main event, where he’ll put his 185-pound title on the line against power-punching contender, Yoel Romero, this Sat. night (March 7, 2020) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
But what about those rumors of Staph infection?
“It’s just a little something, a little scrape of myself,” Adesanya told Ariel Helwani. “That shit happens, but whatever. I’ll rub it on his face when it’s time. No concerns. I’m gonna fight and I’m gonna whoop his ass this weekend.”
Middleweight champions are no strangers to Staph infection.
Adesanya (18-0) remains unbeaten inside the Octagon and is coming off a second-round destruction of former 185-pound kingpin, Robert Whittaker, at UFC 243 last October. Romero (13-4), meanwhile, is hoping to rebound in the biggest way possible after coming up short against Paulo Costa at UFC 241 back in August.
