Remember, you can’t spell Wahlberg without “Wah.”
Longtime Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran, Donald Cerrone, was paid to get whooped by Hollywood tough guy, Mark Wahlberg, in the new “Spenser Confidential” movie on Netflix, in which “Cowboy” served as part-time fight choreographer.
Behind the scenes, however, was a much different story.
Cerrone, by his own admission, has never been in a fake fight, so he didn’t have any practice pulling his punches or keeping his cast mates from getting a taste of what mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters prepare for on a daily basis.
Wahlberg found out the hard way.
It’s been a tough couple of years for “Cowboy,” who turns 37 later this month. Cerrone (36-14, 1 NC) has now dropped three straight fights, including last January’s headliner against Conor McGregor. To be fair, all three of those losses have come against former champions, including interim titleholder Tony Ferguson.
Cerrone remains unbooked at this time but is expected to make his UFC return this summer.
