Lightweight veteran Francisco Trinaldo would like to put his hands on contender Kevin Lee next.
After a unanimous decision win over John Makdessi at UFC Brasilia, seasoned lightweight veteran Francisco Trinaldo would like to take on the man who got defeated in the night’s main event.
In an interview with Combate, ‘Massaranduba’ revealed a desire to once again take on none other than Kevin Lee, who got put to sleep in a guillotine choke by Charles Oliveira.
Trinaldo had fought “The Motown Phenom” back in 2017, losing by second-round rear-naked choke and putting an end to his career-long seven-fight winning streak. It’s obviously a defeat he’s keen to avenge.
“I want to fight the most high-ranked fighters in the division. I’ll beat Kevin Lee up. I’ll fight him anywhere.” Trinaldo said. “I’ve been longing for a knockout. I want to knock someone out or submit someone. I’ve been seeking a knockout, I don’t walk backwards, I go for broke. I will get where I want.
“I want someone who really wants to fight, not a runner. That way I’ll put on a show that the people will enjoy. That’s my style, to brawl.”
Lee, who has lost three of his last four, indicated that he might go on an extended hiatus from fighting after this latest defeat.
Before the win over Makdessi, Francisco Trinaldo (25-7) had a unanimous decision victory over Bobby Green this past November. The 41-year-old’s last loss happened last July, when he dropped a controversial unanimous decision to prospect Alexander Hernandez.
