Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President, Dana White, begged former New England Patriots quarterback, Tom Brady, to sign with Las Vegas Raiders for NFL’s 2020-21 season after entering free agency earlier this year.
Not happening.
Instead, the 42 year-old gridiron great will lace up his cleats for Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who could certainly use the help after finishing 7-9 in the NFC south last season and failing to make the playoffs.
“Tom is a proven champion who has achieved greatness on the field because he demands the best out of himself and his teammates,” said Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht (via CNN). “I’ve known Tom since we drafted him in New England 20 years ago and through this process it became very clear that his desire to be a champion burns as strong today as it ever has.”
Whether or not the start of the NFL season will be impacted by the coronavirus pandemic remains to be seen.
