It turns out it was “muscle relaxers” that caused Tito Ortiz’s recent win to be overturned by the Texas Commission.

Tito Ortiz has explained that it was ‘muscle relaxers’ that he took which caused his Combate Americas win against Alberto El Patron to be briefly overturned by the Texas Commission.

Ortiz (21-12-1) defeated El Patron (9-6) by first-round submission at a Combate Americas event in December of last year. It took until February for the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) to rule it a no-contest, pending a “further investigation.”

Just a few days later and Ortiz’s win was bizarrely restored. Giving more insight into what led to the commission’s decision, Ortiz revealed in a recent interview it was muscle relaxing pills which caused the confusion.

“It was some bullsh-t. So all it was was muscle relaxers that I eat prior to when I go to sleep. They literally said that was illegal unless your doctor prescribed it and you have to write it down on the testing prior to the fight. (Transcription via BJPenn.com)

“They say what have you taken and I tell them,” Ortiz said. “And they went out of their way to make me look like sh*t. But it’s all right man, I’m just happy that the truth was told.”

Ortiz also recently made headlines for his naive views on how the coronavirus is “man-made”.
