The MMA Depressed-us Chorus | June M. Williams
Zane Simon, Connor Ruebusch, and Phil Mackenzie are back and once again watching the best of the worst of MMA. With a focus on the UFC, WEC, PRIDE, and Strikeforce.
Another week of COVID-19 means another week without a UFC card. And another week of sitting inside without anything to do. So what better way to spend your time than perusing UFC Fight Pass for bad fights. This time around, we’re picking up on one of our recent themes again, with an episode geared toward notable busted prospects.
To kick things off, we’ve got two notable heavyweight flameouts, with former ADCC champion John-Olav Einemo taking on former NCAA DI wrestler Dave ‘Pee-Wee’ Herman. Then we’ve got two of the Ultimate Fighter’s most notable busts, the ‘Next Anderson Silva’ Phillipe Nover taking on Efrain Escudero in the TUF 8 season finale. All followed by Roger Huerta getting his hype train throughly derailed by future title contender Gray Maynard.
As always, we’re watching all these bouts over on Fight Pass. To follow along with us, just queue up each video and press play when Zane says “go.” If you don’t have fight pass, but still want to follow along, then find whatever other video of the fights you can, and Connor will tell you when we’ve started round 1.
